What are the main categories of crane hooks?
crane hooks are very critical components in lifting machinery and are usually classified according to the materials used, manufacturing process, purpose and other related factors.
Different types of crane hooks may differ in shape, production process, operation mode or other characteristics. Different types of crane hooks usually meet different usage needs, rated loads, sizes and category requirements.
Common crane hook types:
- Single hook and double hook
- Forged hook and sandwich hook
- Closed and semi-closed hooks
- Electric swivel hook
1. Single hook and double hook
As the name suggests, the main difference between these two types is the number of hooks.
1. Single hook:
When the lifting load does not exceed 75 tons, a single hook is suitable, which is simple and easy to use.
2. Double hook:
When the lifting load exceeds 75 tons, it is suitable to use double hooks, which have a relatively higher bearing capacity.
2. Forged hook and sandwich hook
The biggest difference between forged hook and sandwich hook is the manufacturing method.
1. Forged hooks
Forged hooks are forged from a single piece of high quality low carbon steel. After slow cooling, the hook can obtain good stress resistance (usually in the range of 16Mn to 36MnSi).
2. Sandwich hooks.
Their manufacturing method is slightly more complicated than forged hooks. They are made of several riveted steel plates, which have higher stress resistance and safety performance. Even if some parts of the hook are damaged, it can continue to operate. Users can choose a single or a pair of sandwich hooks to use according to their needs.
3. Closed and semi-enclosed crane hooks
When users need to consider accessories for the hooks, they can choose closed and semi-enclosed crane hooks to ensure a smooth and safe lifting process.
1. Enclosed Hooks
Enclosed crane hook accessories are less easy to use and more time consuming, but they also offer greater safety and load-bearing capacity.
2. Semi-enclosed hook
This hook is safer than the standard hook and easier to install and remove than the enclosed hook.
4. Electric rotating hook
Electric swivel hooks are precision equipment that improves the maneuverability and efficiency of cranes during container lifting and transportation. These hooks can also keep the cargo stable while rotating during operation, making them convenient and efficient to operate even when moving multiple containers at the same time in a limited space.
