The use and inspection of lifting hooks, let’s take a look
The installation of bridges, tall buildings and fans requires the use of a large amount of lifting equipment, and hooks are important objects and stress-receiving devices in lifting equipment. Generally speaking, hooks are divided into ball hooks and non-ball hooks. According to the hook handle form, they can be divided into straight-handle single hooks and straight-handle double hooks.
The ball hook has a relatively simple structure and can only wear a single-rate wire rope, so its hanging weight is relatively small and is mainly used for extended arms of various main and auxiliary arms. The weight of the straight-handle single hook and the straight-handle double hook has greatly improved compared to the ball hook hanging. Currently, the straight handle single hook below 80T, and the straight handle double hook above 80T.
Ball hook structure
Whether the hook is normal will directly affect the safety production at the construction site. When the hook is inflexible or unable to work, the hook should be checked in detail, and the cause should be found through comprehensive analysis and the repair plan should be determined.
The hook is not flexible in rotation. The first thing to consider is whether the gap in the rotational part is too small. Then check whether the holes of the beam shaft and the pulley shaft of the two side plates of the hook are parallel. If the hook body produces a vertical deflection angle, the hook handle will partially hold its strength during the rotation, and the rotation will be discontinuous. The hook cannot work normally. You should check whether the bearing is damaged and whether the wire rope is stuck.

If the hook is not maintained and inspected regularly for a long time, severe rust of each component may lead to the failure of the bearing, and the increase in rotation friction resistance will also cause the nut and hook handle anti-rotating plate to fail. Hook inspection is divided into regular inspections and regular inspections. Regular inspections can be performed by operators or other personnel, and the inspection cycle is once a month; regular inspections must be performed by full-time inspectors, and the inspection cycle is once a year.
In addition, during the work period, grease should be added to the joints of pulleys, beams, bearings, beams and side plates regularly (100 hours). After adding lubricating grease, the oil cups on the beams and hook nuts must be sealed with oil cup caps to avoid lubricating holes being blocked.
During regular inspections can detect faults early and prevent accidents from happening. Therefore, any faults found and corrective measures for the fault must be recorded, and confirm whether the fault has been resolved.

·Cracks appear on the surface of the hook handle
·Plastic deformation of the hook handle
·The hook opening size exceeds 10% of the basic size before use
·The wear of the hook exceeds 5% of the basic size
·The size of the hook handle diameter corrosion should not be greater than 5% of the basic size
·Hook thread corrosion
·Hook body twisting angle exceeds 10°
