Why does the hook of the electric hoist wear out?

2025-08-06 01:07:47

The hook is very critical for electric hoists and needs to be checked regularly. If you find that it is deformed or worn out, you need to replace it. So why is it worn out?

  1. The wear of the hook by pulling or hanging obliquely

If you pull and lift slant, it is very likely to cause decoupling. When lifting, the hook and rope sleeve are both crooked. When lifting, the rope sleeve will be easier to decouple. If you unhook, the rope sleeve will rub against the hook, and over time, it will wear faster the dangerous section of the hook.

  2. Normal consumption and wear during work

The longer the machine is used, the more or less normal consumption and wear will occur. This wear is inevitable, but it can be reduced through corresponding maintenance methods.

In addition, experiments show that when using hooks in poor environments, the wear ratio of hooks will be increased, especially in the wild or mines, and the wear amount of hooks will be significantly increased.
