Hook is widely used in various forms of lifting machinery. Some of the hooks currently used are manufactured according to the industry standards used, and some are manufactured according to GB 10051.1-5 "Holding Hook". During inspection and inspection, the inspection items and contents of various hooks are the same, but the requirements are slightly different.

Safety inspection of hooks: The hooks of cranes in use should be inspected regularly according to their usage status, at least once every six months, and cleaned and lubricated. The general method for checking hooks is: first use kerosene to clean the hook body, and then use a 20x magnifying glass to check whether the hook body has fatigue cracks, especially for dangerous sections, check the wear of the hook bushing, pin shaft, shaft hole, etc., and check whether the fasteners are loose. For hooks of some large cranes with higher working levels or used in important working environments, non-destructive flaw detection should also be used to check whether there are defects inside and outside the hook.

Newly put into use must identify the marks on the hook body, the technical documents of the manufacturing unit and the factory certificate of conformity. Load tests should be carried out according to the mark before being put into use, and only allowed to use after confirmation is confirmed. The inspection method is: gradually increase the load to 1.25 times the rated load in incremental manner, and ask for no less than 10 minutes when loading the hook. After unloading, the hook must not have cracks or other defects, and its opening deformation should not exceed 0.25%.

Advanced load test should also be performed after use to redetermine the load value of the use.
