In order to make the wires evenly subject to stress, the spiral angles after each layer of steel wire are roughly equal, but the screw distances are not equal, so the inner and outer layers of steel wires intersect each other and are in a point contact state.

　　② Wire rope for linear contact: The twisting distances of each layer of steel wire in the strand are equal, and the inner and outer layers of steel wires are in contact with each other on a spiral line, in a linear contact state. The performance of wire contact wire ropes is greatly improved compared to point contact, so they are widely used.

　　③ Surface contact wire rope: A type of surface contact rope strand, the outer layer is made of special-shaped steel wire, with a smooth surface and good wear resistance. Compared with other types of wire ropes of the same diameter, the tensile strength is greater and can withstand lateral pressure, but it has poor flexibility, complex technology, and high manufacturing cost. It is often used as a load-bearing cable, such as cables on cable cranes and overhead cableways.
