The practicality of hook spreaders
The hook is a widely used one in pick-up devices. It has the characteristics of simplicity in manufacturing and strong use. There are two types of hooks: forged hooks and plate hooks.
The forged hook uses 20 carbon structural steel with high strength and good toughness, which is annealed after forging and stamping, and then mechanically processed. The required surface hardness is 95-135HB after heat treatment. The plate hook is made of low alloy steel such as 16Mn or Q235 and ordinary carbon steel. The plate hook is riveted from each 30mm thick cut plate, and the plate is generally cut out with Q235mm steel plate. Forged hooks and plate hooks are divided into single hooks and double hooks. Single hooks are easy to manufacture and use, so lifting machinery with lifting weight below 75t is the most common.
Due to the favorable stress, the double hook is commonly used where the lifting weight is large or the hook is required to be symmetrical.
